Weekly Reflection 10/8
Questions/Issues that came up in midterms:
- How can I push the destruction of the figure further? There are many possibilities, it's just finding something that works conceptually and visually that's the problem.
- How can I create more allusion in my work? What can I use to stand in for the figure/person?
- I need to build deeper paintings, my images all take place on one or two planes, with little opportunity for the eye to travel around. Don't crop so much.
- Continue to explore ways of portraying these personal issues in ways that are still accessible/relatable to those who haven't experienced them.
Also, in regards to my perception of blue, I took a visual acuity test and got an absolutely terrible score when judging colors within the blue - blue-green range. I was supposed to be placing colored squares in order to create a smooth gradient from one hue to another, and I just could not tell the colors in that range apart.
